Colaiste Muire is a Catholic, Co-Educational Secondary school conducted by the Presentation Brothers and the Mercy Sisters. The aim of the school is to provide a Christian Education for our pupils, by complementing and supporting the role of parents in developing religious convictions and moral values in their children and by providing for their educational needs - social, academic and technical. The school is renowned for the outstanding success of its students in Public Examinations. The teaching of Religion plays a prominent role in the School Curriculum. The academic year commences with a School Mass. Each class is visited regularly by a priest and there are opportunities for Class Masses and Penitential Services. Students of all grades of ability are welcomed to the school and a sufficiently wide range of subjects is provided to cater for their needs. Our past students are in employment, third level education, further training or apprenticeships. Students are helped to achieve their full potential so that they may participate with a sense of personal responsibility in all aspects of adult life. It is in this context that discipline is maintained in the school. We believe in active School / Parent co-operation and regular contact is maintained with parents through Parent/Teacher meetings, Parents' Advisory Council, class, general meetings and Newsletters.
